    1960 5.5 evinrude, how to???

    Does any one know how to drop the lower unit on a 1960 5.5hp evinrude fisherman? The book i have to work with doesn't quite come up to the year of motor that I have. It doesn't tell how to unhook the shift linkage to finish dropping the lower unit. Any ideas? thanks!

    may buy older johnson 5hp, what to look for?

    I have the chance to buy an older johnson 5hp outboard for my 14' alum boat. I don't know the year or any of that yet.... What should i look for on this motor? Are there any common problems w/ these motors. Is there anything that I should look for that makes this a deal breaker?
