I am currently replacing the stringers, foam, and deck of my boat due to it being rotten away. My question is which type of wood would be best to replace the stringers and if so what is the best way to install the new stringers.

I am new to this website and to the boating world. I have received as a gift an old boat with some work needed to be done. In regards to the engine much of the internal wires are corroded and have rusted. I have seen many posts towards this subject. I really dont have the money to buy another...
