    motor revs but wont go

    i have a 79 merc, just got it . went out a few times ran great,last time out i put it in reverse and gave it gas and it was jumping like it wasn't fully engaging.. took it home adjusted the lingage and it was fine with muffs on. when back out today started going in forward and at about 1/2...

    1968 50 hp to a 1972 50 hp lower unit swap

    will a 1972 0r 73 lower unit from a 50 hp thunderbolt fit on a 1968 50 hp thunderbolt.. without changing any internal parts. or does anyone know a site where i can find that info????

    mercury thunderbolt red and blue bands

    can anyone tell me what year (roughly) the red band on a mercury thunderbolt 50 hp is.i'm looking at buying one with a parts motor but the parts motor has a blue band on it. i'm wandering if the parts are even interchangeable. especialy the lower units... i can't get the serial # from him...

    merc shifter cable travel distance

    i have a guestion that i hope someone can help me with?? i swapped a 40 hp merc to a 65hp merc, and the shifter cable travel is not allowing it to get in gear. forward or reverse.. there's not enough travel distance in the cable. is there any way to adjust it to get more travel?? or do i need a...
