    I have a 93 johnson 30 horse idles fine until you rev up and let off throttle then it wants to stay running at a higher rpm. shutoff motor and restart and it idles fine again. ANY SUGGESTIONS???

    1993 johnson 30 horse will not idle down after high rpm.

    I have a 1993 johnson tiller handle 30 horse long shaft. It will start and idle fine, but once you rev it up to a higher rpm and let off the throttle the motor stays running at a higher rpm enough that it wont let you shift into gear. You can shut off engine and restart and it is fine, smooth...
