    Carb rebuild - core plug removal

    I'm rebuilding the carburetor on my 1966 60 hp Johnson model VXL-12R. My question is: how the heck do you get those core plugs out? The rebuild kit came with new ones, and I know to install them you just "gently" punch them down into the hole. But without being able to get behind the old ones...
