    3.0L Merc exhaust manifold/riser seal

    I have an '89 3.0L Merc. I removed the exhaust riser from the exhaust manifold. My question is do I need to use a gasket cement when reconnecting these 2 parts? I have a new gasket and cleaned all the old gasket off the parts. It seemed like the old gasket was stuck on the parts real good...
