I recently got a an old 1954 Elgin 7.5 hp. When I run it at high speeds you can sometimes here a tinging noise as if someone was taping a fork on a wine glass. I can't figure out where it's coming from. Any ideas?

I have a 1963 7.5hp West Bend. I removed the lower unit to replace the seals but I am have trouble getting it back on. I get it on most of the way with about 2" to spare. I then turn the drive shaft and it seems to line up and drops in another 1" or so but I can't seem to get in the last inch...
