    1970 Johnson 60 HP Shifting Issue

    I have a 1970 60hp Johnson outboard. When it starts, it starts in forward. It should start in neutral. I also do not have reverse. I am assuming this is a "shift solenoid" issue, but not sure. Also not sure where (or if) in the lower unit this would be located. Could this be another issue...

    1970 60hp Johnson - main fuse problem

    So I have a 1970 60 HP Johnson. I am blowing the main fuse after the motor runs for about 3-5 minutes. The fuse holder itself gets very hot before it blows. The ignition switch is good (just replaced). I have found a couple of "baked" wires that were probably grounded. I have fixed those...

    1970 60HP Johnson - Question about the rectifier

    Can a bad rectifier cause the main 20 amp fuse to blow??? The tach functions fine. Trying to find the cause of the fuse blowing after startup. It can run for 1 minute and then blow, or sometimes as much as 5 minutes and then blow. VERY frustrating!!! Any help would be most appreciated!

    1970 60HP Johnson blowing main fuse
