    I have a 1988 Johnson 40 HP Tiller Electric Start Long Shaft. I need a rebuild kit for the tilt cylinder. The parts manual offers 2 kits. One is 1 3/8" and the other is 1 1/2". The manual at BRP says to measure the cap but does not say what portion. The cap on mine measures roughly 1 3/4"...

    1988 40 hp trim and tilt

    I have an 88 Johnson with the two cylinder trim and tilt system. Can I use the trim and tilt system from a 1989 model? This one is a single cylinder system.

    1988 40 hp--trim and tilt problem

    My motor drops all the way down through both the tilt and trim. The manual release seams to be sealed and has a good o-ring. From what I understand there are two check valves. One in a cylinder and one in the pump itself. I would like to repack both cylinders and do whatever I need to fix...
