    I need help removing steering helm

    I'm trying to replace the steering in my 1981 johnson. I have removed the wheel and that is about it. I can't get the cap off that the steering wheel was bolted to. Any help would be great. Thanks

    Please help with problem.

    I have a 1981 Johnson 150 HP. Here is the problem: When I'm checking the timing and the RPMs increase the starboard side stops firing and the strobing stops on the timing light but when the motor is just idling, everything is fine. What could be the problem?
