    Lower unit interchange per Don S charts

    Got an 85 gen one with a bad lower. I have other similiar year lowers laying around. If I am reading these charts right I can interchange lowers given that the are all alpha one gen one. It doesn't matter wether they came off a 4cyl 6cyl or 8cyl. Is this correct?

    I have been able to find a Johnson manual from '79. I have a '78 rude 140843c. I think this manual will be good enough just not sure. I need timing, link and synch and spark plug info as well as torque specs. Any of you more experienced guys think this will be fine?
