When I have it back together and turn the prop shaft by hand I notice a free turning portion and a tight portion in the revolution of a turn. Not so tight I can't turn the shaft just have to grip it tight to complete the revolution of the shaft. What might be causing this?

Would it hurt to use Krudd Kutter on the parts? Or other mild rust remover/cleaner.
