    Primer Jet

    What does the Primer Jet do? The screw head of mine is stripped some and can't be removed. It is clean. When I pull to start, fuel pools in the lake around engine. plus it doesn't start. Could this cause it? I belive the bulb stays hard. Mariner 40 EO 6E9 150368

    I have a 16' Misty River aluminum fishing boat. I currently have a 40 mariner that is about to be trashed. I found a used yamaha 4 stroke high thrust 50hp. Is the High gear ratio and prop measurements 14" in diameter and 11' in pitch too much?

    starter

    40hp mariner 2 stroke 40 EO 6E9 S 150368. I have electric and manuel start. The Key does not turn the engine, but must be turned to the "on" position to start it manually. The key is also used to turn the engine off. What should I test and how?
