    Lewmar parts (gear)

Mother and step-father have a 2004 Stingray 240cs with a Lewmar horizontal windlass. The large gear is stripped and having trouble finding one. Local shop said it is backordered. The serial number on the windlass is 5680801302 and the part on the gear is 65001184 from what I understand. I...

    Air condition not working

Got the TRIAC part today and swapped it out. I now have power going to my pump but pump not coming on. Not sure if I just didn't get a good connection last week when I checked for power or maybe that I have 2 issues. Plan now is to put a plug on the end of the pump cord and plug it into an...

    Air condition not working

All terminals look great and none felt loose. Just had my cone clutch replaced and picked it up last week so gonna call that shop tomorrow and run it by him real quick to see if he has any ideas

    Air condition not working

So put the boat in yesterday and the AC is not working, specifically the pump. The fans and compressor come on but the pump does not. So checked the circuit board terminals and have 120V at the input terminals but 0 volts at the terminals going to the pump. It's a Cruisair single unit system...

    winterizing merc?

My boat came with the merc manual (2006) and it doesn't say anything about adding AF, only pulling the plugs and draining it.

    winterizing merc?

I got all hoses disconnected except the lower one on the back of the seawater pump. I got the clamp off but can't get any leverage to get the hose off. There is a coupler about 18" back from the pump where I'm guessing the shop put that in there to disconnect it from there instead, which would...

    winterizing merc?

Yeah I'm not big into the K&N's. It's not a race boat. I ran them on my race cars back in the day but not needed on anything I operate now.

    winterizing merc?

So this is what mine should look like. My element sits inside the lower part of the plastic by at least 1", maybe even 2". Nowhere near as large as the one in the pic

    winterizing merc?

7" might be what mine should be but mine is really small compared to the plastic housing. At first I thought maybe it wasn't even there. Its about 3-4" smaller than the lid. The lid is roughly 8" so guessing 5"? Definitely not 7" cause then it would only be in about 1/2" from the lid. But gonna...

    winterizing merc?

Possibly but it's too cramped for me to sit in there trying to get it. I need to remove the pump anyway to replace the impeller so that might be the easier way then when I put it back together I will turn the clamps the right way for next time

    winterizing merc?

might have to order a set of those. The one was pretty tight but the other 4 came out without much trouble. I did stick a wire up in the manifolds but not the block ones yet. I was pretty uncomfortable and was afraid I might be stuck in there when i did the port side one. I got a little...

    winterizing merc?

ok. So got ll 5 blue plugs out. Was not fun...lol. Fat guys weren't meant to work on these things and skinny guys were meant to be miserable while doing it...lol. But I got them. The starboard side has some type of electrical sensor in that spot where the plug would be but there is a blue plug...

    winterizing merc?

I have the manual that came with mine but it shows about 3 or 4 different systems, not specific to my boat. It shows closed cooling, one with a pump handle thing, etc

    winterizing merc?

Sounds good. That impeller was replaced at the end of 2018 when we bought the boat. Temps have been good so didn't think about replacing it but might be a good idea?

    winterizing merc?

So looked up the seawater pump and got this > 807151A9. Took a look and don't see any drain plugs on it either. So do I just disconnect the hoses and crank the engine over? Anything else I need to do with that?

    winterizing merc?

Yeah when we had our Sea Ray I just left everything empty the first few years. But we have always kept ours underground in the winter where it never drops below 55* so I was never real worried about it. If we were leaving it outside all winter I'd be paying a legit shop to do it cause I don't...

    winterizing merc?

There is definitely one on the starboard side front on the recirculating pump. that ones easy to see. Then pretty sure there is one under each manifold. Might be 2 on the block. My step-son always pulled them since he is a little smaller than me...lol. Last year I don't think I pulled them at...
