    Cool Fuel Pump

if that is the one that i found, it appears it is for an outboard. I found a cheap aftermarket pump that comes with a seal and ill try that for now.

    Cool Fuel Pump

In my post yesterday i indcated that the fuse would only blow when cranking the engine. That was not correct. The fuse would blow anytime it tried to run. (was powered by the relay) Well, i took the pump apart a few more times. Everything worked fine until i reassembled the pump. Then the...

    Cool Fuel Pump

all of the fuses in that block are 20s. I figure it has to be for the fuel pump since it only blows when the pump is connected. I have tried pretty much everything i can think of and the only thing i can come up with is the relay. Most everything electrical is wired so it shouldnt be too...

    Cool Fuel Pump

It is a 20amp fuse and thats the same fuse i used to test the motors when i powered them from an outside source.

    Cool Fuel Pump

Do you think i am on the right track at this point. Meaning does the pump relay sound right?

    Cool Fuel Pump

Yet another update. I disconnected the batteries, disconnected the power leads to the CFP and with a fuse inline, applied power directly to the CFP. The pump ran and did not blow the fuse. Fuel pump relay seems like the next logical place to look.

Also, anyone have any idea where the fuel pump relay is on this? Im reading that could be causing this as well

    Cool Fuel Pump

This just keeps getting better and better. I repaired my seawater pump, put everything back together and the boat wont start. Im working with a 2010 Mercruiser 8.2mag. Serial 1A351574. I thought it must have something to do with the fuel system because i had to move the cool fuel pump out of...

2010 Mercruiser 8.2mag goes into limp mode

Well, update. I disassembled the air actuated drain part of the pump and found a paint chip lodged on the outlet side of the pump where it drains through the air actuated system. The steel tube that moves up and down when air is applied appears to have been painted and the paint is flaking off...

2010 Mercruiser 8.2mag goes into limp mode

A little history. I had to replace the starter and i removed the seawater intake hose to give me access. When i put it back together i didnt tighten the clamp. The boat was going into limp mode due to low seawater pressure. When i tightened the clamp and took the boat out, it went a little...

2010 Mercruiser 8.2mag goes into limp mode

My boat accelerates perfectly but after a few moments, the alarm sounds and it goes in to limp mode. Unfortunately it is impossible to read the smartcraft information in the sun. It does tell me that it is in reduced power mode but doesnt tell my why. The only thing i notice is the oil...

    Prop seals Bravo 3

I have everything apart and i cant seem to get the inner (smaller) seal out of the outer prop shaft. Is there a special tool for this. Im sure i could do this if i could put some heat on it but i dont want to damage the shaft. Any suggestions?

    Prop seals Bravo 3

Thanks so much. One more question regarding the tools. There seems to be 3 wrenches. One for the inner prop nut, and two for the carrier. Do I need both of the carrier wrenches or is it on or the other?

    Prop seals Bravo 3

I have a 2010 SeaRay with an 8.2L and a Bravo3 outdrive. The boat has about 125 hours on it. Before i put it away for the winter i noticed the outdrive oil was low and also found some seepage where the iner prop meats the gear case. Clearly i need a reseal. After doing a bit of research...

    Boat wont start

Got it figured out with some questions. To clarify, during the summer we had some torrential rain for about a week. Some idiot (me) forgot to take the plug out of the back and the bilge filled up with water. Very high in fact. I also found that the drains around the engine hatch were clogged...

    Boat wont start

Yesterday i found that the 50amp breaker on top of the motor is bad. I put a fused jumper across it and now i have power to the pcm. 12.8v battery and 12.6v system. I was able to clear the error codes. The boat still will not start however now i am hearing a faint clicking when i try to start...

    Boat wont start

Thanks very much, that was going to be my next thing to try. Unfortunately i haven't had time to get back to it. As far as the fuses go, i have checked every on that i can find and they are good. I even went so far as to test them with an ohm meter. Does anyone know where i would find the...

    Boat wont start

Thanks, I have the idea in my mind that it might be a fuse/relay/breaker but im not sure where to look. I checked every fuse i could find and they are all ok. I would like to see if i can find the power pin on the ECM and check it there as well.

    Boat wont start

I havent tried that and i will tomorrow but when i turn the key to start, absolutely nothin happens. It is as if the boat is not in neutral or the emergency stop switch it open. Looking at the diagram in the repair manual, it shows a slave solenoid which i cant seem to find. As i said, i will...
