Sx-m bearing cover with stripped dipstick hole

According to my hole gauge, it's 15/32...so I assume it's actually an m12, but it's pretty coarse. Maybe m12x2?

Sx-m bearing cover with stripped dipstick hole

Hello. I overtightened and stripped the dipstick hole for my 2000 sx-m. If it helps, the dipstick is "oil indicator 3854847" and the bearing cover is 3854401. As a new bearing cover is $401, I'd like to either; 1. Add a helicoil to the stripped hole 2. Re-tap the hole and just put an oil drain...

    Won’t pee

Is there a flush port that you connect a hose? (Might require a hose adapter). If so, flush with stat removed, then try running. Is it possible your water inlet screens are plugged? (On my nissan the inlets have screens)

    Auto by start resistance

I actually found an 80 ohms resistor in my bench, and it read accurately. It pays to save junk! It also read good (o.1 ohm) when touching probes

    Auto by start resistance

Hello. I have been debugging a nissan nsf15 on a different thread, but had a new question. I noticed in my (used) service manual that someone had hand written "5-7 ohms @20c" for the resistance of the abs. I checked mine, it's 23.3 ohms. Can anyone confirm the resistance of the abs coil? Thank you

Nissan 15 NSF15B2 long warmup times

I did remove and check the ABS (choke). I hooked it up to a 9v and after about 45 sec it was out position.

Nissan 15 NSF15B2 long warmup times

I know I am really reaching on this one...Normally I'd also say that a 10F higher stat wont make a difference. My theory is that maybe when the stat opens, the cold water is cooling the engine down enough that it needs more choke (but the choke is automatic, so its already fully open). Then as I...

Nissan 15 NSF15B2 long warmup times

I did replace the stat (factory is 140 for start to open) it didn't help. Visually it's not stuck open. I was going to disassemble and dip the carb (again), but it's been soaked overnight and then sprayed out 3 times (chem-dip soak, then carb cleaner then airhose) If you could tell me how to...

Nissan 15 NSF15B2 long warmup times

Resurrecting an old post...I've done everything suggested and all I could think of (and used a service manual.) For some reason it seems like it's t stat related. The choke solenoid works, and based on testing is done moving within 30 secs or so. It's after a few minutes that it runs poor. The...

Nissan 15 NSF15B2 long warmup times

This has me stumped. Even when new, this outboard would sometimes sputter a bit til FULLY warmed up. Suddenly this years its much more prevalent. Typical use case... 65F water, Air between 55 and 70. Start the engine (starts right up and idles great.) 2 minutes or so while loading (still great)...

Four Winns shifter cable PN for Volvo SX - looking for advice

Hello I am trying to figure out what shifter cable I need based on boat info. I could not find a part number stamped on it anyplace, and didnt remove it to measure it, as I was advised that its easier to snake the new one thru by using the old one as a fish-tape. Especially since I will have to...

Anyone running their carbs dry to winterize?

Hello... First time poster here. I found this site very useful last year to do the maintenenace and winterization of my new (to me) 2000 Four Wins 190 Horizon, with Volvo 5.0GL PEFS (carb'd engine) and SX drive. I was curious about one thing though. When I put an outboard away, I unhook the fuel...
