    Also, I just now paid closer attention to this vid that I took the first time when I took the outdrive out, you could hear that sound is somewhat the same just a bit faint cause it was when the plugs were out. Is it possible that I should look into the flywheel/coupler area more closely first...

    No matter how tight I get the belt, I couldn’t get the engine to turn over with the alternator bolt. My question at this state where the engine is (see pic), would it spew oil all over if I try to use the starter to crank it?

    I got this yesterday and can’t really pinpoint because when the engine is spinning without plugs, the noise isn’t there.

    I’m not sure how to do this because the engine mount is in the way of the crankshaft pulley. Please let me know if there is another way to do this. Thank you.

    Yes, you may be able to notice the belt is just there not moving. I was able to keep it running now after adding some STP oil treatment but the squeal/noise is still there. but now it doesn’t cut out on it own.

    The smoke was just the exhaust because I’m inside my garage with a fan on.

    Plugs off, turning over with starter and seem ok.

    I know. This was supposed to be the first summer we were going to have full use of it after picking it up late last year. Our first trip this year and then this… I hope there is someone that can help. I really can’t afford $1-2k of additional expense.

    So got the out drive out today and same noise/squeal seem to be the one stopping the engine from continuing to run.

    Thank you all for the replies. Yes, all the basics you mentioned do check out. I will try the long screw driver to isolate where it’s coming from. If all else fails, it looks that the drive will have to pulled as recommended here too. Thanks again

    Thanks for the replies. That noise was not there before the engine stalled. It was after I took it home is when I noticed that noise that seems to be keeping the engine from continuing to start running
