    Mercruiser 4.3L won't start

Appreciate getting the pic, but that's a casting number. The motor serial number will be on a aluminum tag above the starter riveted to the block

    Mercruiser 4.3L won't start

Not able to find that serial number, thinking it's maybe a 1985 model or there about, MCM 205, points distributor If the boat has a Tach, remove the wire from it. Could be the negative side of the coil might have 2 gray wires (one for Tach and one for distributor)

60 HP Mercury 4 stroke cuts off when warms up.

Thanks Looks like your motor uses a vapor separation tank VST Not real familiar with your motor but find the VST and look for a schrader valve (bicycle tire fitting) which will have a plastic cap on it. Find/rent a fuel pressure gauge and attach to it. Then run the motor and watch the pressure...

2006 Monterey Boat with a 4.3L Mercruiser TKS Engine S/N 0w354897 Mysterious Loss of Power

I said Temp switch is connected directly to ignition power and if it starts shorting out it normally blows the fuse. If it just draws enough power to low the 12V supply below 10V and not blow the fuse this can cause spark issues Again need to test

    GX1850

Don't know if GX1850 is certified or not. Quick search doesn't mention certified, but is not do hot swap. If I think about it next time at the boat I'll turn one of the displays off and back on to see if it reconnects The displays use CAN with 2K connections. If 2K has a direct connect to the...

2006 Monterey Boat with a 4.3L Mercruiser TKS Engine S/N 0w354897 Mysterious Loss of Power

The worst thing someone can do is replace parts before determining what the problem is first through testing. Replacing anything has a possibility of also induce another problem Things like the coil can draw enough power if malfunctioning "might" lower the voltage enough to cause spark issues...
