    Water separator--Honda

I have a bf50 but I don't think that size or even make of motor matters for this question. I'm sure that a water filter placed on the fuel line would almost always be a good idea. With a small boat (like mine) there really is no place to mount a (racor type) filter. Is there a unit made that...

    Skinnywater. Any insight?

Skinny, I've got a 02 bf50 and mechanically, it is fine. Both my son and I use it and we both feel that it has gotten louder the last 2-3 times we used it. Dealer found no problem and we are still probably 6 weeks from getting out again to listen. Any insight? It is on a 16 ft aluminum...

    Honda it is!

About 6 weeks ago, I asked for input on moving up to a 4 stroke and several folks took the time to give me some food for thought. After digesting all the input and weighing the pros and cons, we bought a Honda bf50. Only have about 10 hours on it so far, (Darn heat keeps Granpa in the a/c)...

    What about a Honda?

Have finally given up on my 93 Evinrude 50. It is a piece of junk. Maybe just one of those motors put together by junkies on a Monday morning. At any rate, my youngest son has volunteered to pay half for a new motor and I'm thinking Honda 4 stroke. Any reason other than cost to not go that...

    Starter question

This is probably a no brainer for a lot of you. On a 93 Evinrude 50 hp, the starter is spinning but not rising to the flywheel. Is there an easy answer or is the starter shot? Thanks, Granpa

    Precise launch

Here in the D C area, military families are common and generally not hard to spot. On a clear, lovely morning, an obvious family showed up at the boat ramp next to Washington National airport with a nice family oriented 23-25' Grady White cuddy cabin in ship shape. The guess is that they were a...

    Feedback and thanks

I posted a question a week or so ago asking whether an oily residue from the hub of a 94 Evinrude 50 hp after being run was in any way connected to an apparently failing primer bulb. Well, based on the info provided by you folks, I replaced the fuel line and threw in a new fuel filter for good...

    Oil in exhaust

The last two times my son has run our 1994 50 hp Evinrude, a residue has appeared under the skeg and appears to be coming from the hub exhaust. It is a black oil residue. On his last trip he says that he was unable to stay at full power until he had his buddy squeeze the priming bulb while...
