    Manual tilt settings

    Hey guys, I was wondering about the pin position for my manual tilt on my 115hp motor. My friend says that if I put the pin closer to the transom that the motor will push the bow higher while running but I think it will push the bow down into the water more. Which is it?

    So this weekend I was picking up an 85 horse parts motor and the guy offered me the motor for $60, how could I say no? Anyways, just going over the motor and I checked the compression, about 90/cylinder while cold. I just wanted to make sure that's within norm for this guy.

    1970 115 Evinrude help!

    I'm checking over this motor right now, I'm not seeing any difference in vdc when the motor is running or off. I tested the rectifier (checked out ok) and I was wondering if there was a way to test the stator with the motor off. Forgot to mention; checking for power at the battery.
