The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
I could have sworn I had this written down, now I can't find it.
Trying to determine weight of boat. Specs in title of post.
I've also posted in the Evinrude forum for motor weight (http://forums.iboats.com/johnson-evinrude-outboards/weight-1993-evinrude-model-ve50tletf-619827.html).
Any...
Trying to figure out my boat's weight. Thought I had it written down, now I can't find it.
Starting with engine, boat is next (details below if you happen to know about Lowe pontoon boats).
Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Eric
PS. Boat weight post here...
Re: Lake is low, cables don't reach water. Solution?
I'm attaching a few more pictures. While I don't have a good picture that shows everything in one picture, the attached pictures may paint the necessary picture. I will definitely take better pictures next time I am down. I've also attached...
Bad year for water in Lake Granbury, Texas.
There is water under my boat, but the cables don't reach the water. It's close, maybe another foot or two, but it's not quite there.
I'm trying to figure out a relatively easy way to add a bit of cable.
I've uploaded a couple of pictures. One...
1993 Evinrude 50HP - How to replace the roller & sleeve assembly (part number 397499)
Two weeks ago the assembly was intact. Last week I noticed the sleeve was gone. Bought a new assembly, but am not sure how to remove the old one. Looks like there is a white "O-ring" (aka "retaining ring"...
Re: 1990 70 hp Evinrude VRO runs on two cylinders
How are your fuel lines and carburetors?
Here's what I found in my carbueretor... Obviously crud* blocking the HS orifice is not good.
*In this case the crud was a non-standard, possibly "home made", gasket that decomposed and fell into the...
I recently rebuilt the carbs, and now my motor runs tip top. But after going for a run, and then looking under the cover to make sure everything looks OK (I was mostly worried about the new fuel lines staying attached) I noticed that a bit of fuel was oozing from the starboard port of the lower...
I was on the PERKO website and came across this. Thought it might be worth mentioning. I searched here to see if this information was already posted, but did not find anything (even though it may be over a year old). Hopefully this is the appropriate forum.
From...
I picked up an new bulb (1004) for my all round this weekend and it came in a 2 pack. Thinking a spare is good to have, I thought spares for my nav lights would be a good idea too. Only problem is I can't find a cross reference for what I have. Is there an automotive equivalent? The 1004 was...
Re: 1993 50HP Evinrude - Water pressure gauge connection?
Well that worked very well. The 1/8" ID line to the water pressure gauge fit perfectly inside the 1/4" ID tell tale line. At idle the gauge read about 6 and at about 3000 RPM it read about 12. I don't like the idea of not having the...
Re: Align steering wheel spokes on a rotary system?
Well I was wrong in my estimate, it's more like 90 degrees off. And I did not see anything to adjust, at least not anything that might give me 90 degrees back. Here's a few more pictures in case I'm missing something.
I was reading a thread about the VRO, and it was said that running rich can burn up a cylinder and or motor.
So, is there a way to tell if you are running lean or rich? I'm running pre-mix, and since there is no high-speed adjustment on the carbs, I'm wondering if that's as good as it gets? Of...
Re: Replaced fuel line and now bog to idle or stop!
That's what I was thinking... I think I would have gone this route (two required):
And maybe that would allow the hose to be a tad shorter and away from what is maybe is the water jacket.
Re: Pontoon Wiring Guide
I can totally relate (see sig... also a '93 boat). I always take a bunch of pictures before I touch anything. That being said, boat wiring is pretty simple, once you get the hang of it. There's a book out there (Amazon) just on boat wiring. I redid most of my...
Re: Align steering wheel spokes on a rotary system?
I'd say about 40 to 45 degrees off. Enough that I notice and would like to fix it (if not too much work, otherwise it moves lower on the to do list). This picture may be close. I'll look again tomorrow (boat is 60 miles away at my dad's...
My steering wheel spokes are not level when my motor is centered. I looked at the steering wheel, but either it does not come off, or won't come off (I did not want to force it and I don't have an appropriate puller). I'm hoping maybe there is something that can be done with the box under the...
I followed a link, then played around with the URL and found this:

I thought it was pretty cool, a Volkswagen for the water.

I have removed this trolling motor from the boat (we cruise more than fish), but I was thinking of repairing this trolling motor and then selling it. Only problem is it is missing the directional arrow part from the cover. Looking around the cover can be bought for $50 to $60, which seems to be...
Re: Steering alignment
I was searching for this very same answer... How do you loosen the rack? I looked, and did not see anything obvious. Attached is a picture that shows some of the steering mechanism. The photo was taken for the gauges, so it's not the greatest shot of the steering.
Thanks
After seeing bits of black come out the ends of the fuel lines to the carbs, it's only logical that the same bits got in the carbs and gummed things up (engine starts fine and will continue to run if I bump the primer switch while running - so this seems to point to carbs).
I've replaced all...
