The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
After spending another night on the boat in Halifax, we spent a few hours walking around downtown and then we headed for Lunenburg, NS. It would be about 100 miles as we would go into Mahone Bay first. Sue and John spent an extra day in Halifax before catching up with us in Lunenburg.
We are in Halifax, Nova Scotia today after having spent the night on our boat at the downtown marina. As planned before we started the trip, we will take the boat to Seamasters Marine Services, a 5 star Yamaha service center, and get the oil changed for both outboard engines and for the...
We left the Liscomb Lodge Marina this morning after a pleasant night. Our destination today is Halifax, Nova Scotia about 90 miles away. As we left the dock the water was like glass and reflected wonderfully.
This is St. Peters Marina on Cape Breton Island. We spent the night here and are now going to head southwest toward Liscombe Lodge at the head of a small fjord in Nova Scotia.
Sydney back to St. Peters on our way southwest. Now it's decision time. Do we go back through the protected and very beautiful Bras d'Or Lake or by heading east into the Atlantic and then south along the rugged, less inhabited coastline? The answer is all about the weather. In good (modest...
Today was a day to go to church in Sydney, Cape Breton Island in the morning and then explore several hundred kilometers of northwestern Cape Breton as we drove all the way around the Cabot Trail. It is a very scenic highway in northern Victoria County and Inverness County on Cape Breton Island.
After having a good night at the Dobson Yacht Club Marina...shown in the picture above...across the harbor from Sydney, we rented a car and spent the day visiting the town's of Glace Bay and Louisbourg both with amazing things to see. Please keep reading and looking at the pictures.
We woke up to clearing weather in Baddeck, NS. We decided to walk around the town and then head for the open ocean at the NE end of the Bras d'Or Lake on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. We would then head east into Sydney Harbour and spend the weekend there at the Dobson Yacht Club.
We woke up to fog this morning. After almost no fog for 53 days and over 2,000 miles we were bound to get some fog sometime, but the Bras d'Or Lake is supposed to be mostly fog free.
Another lovely clear day. Our plan for the day was to leave Port Hawkesbury marina after a pleasant night and head southeast on the Canso Strait and then head due east through the Lennox Passage between Cape Breton Island and Ile Madame. We then headed NE and then north to the town of St...
Cari and I got up this morning and decided to take a walk around the town of Pictou, NS before we leave. This was a house on the outskirts of town with about 200 lobster pots stacked up along a shed. The season must have just ended for lobster here.
We started out in Charlottetown again to see a few more things before leaving. We then headed across the Northumberland Strait to the quaint Nova Scotia town of Pictou, with the town marina right in the town's center. Seas were calm and the day was pleasantly warm.
We then headed...
We went to the LDS Church in the morning in Charlottetown, PEI and then explored more of the island in the afternoon in the rented car, plus had an amazing lobster dinner. Another great day.
We left Shippagan and headed to Bouctouche, NB. Before we show our trip to Bouctouche we wanted to show you the terrific aquarium we visited yesterday afternoon.
Quebec City, A City of Historical Buildings, Cobblestone Streets & Murals - Day 27
Again in Quebec City. We decided to take our bicycles and go riding again. This time we headed north along the bank of a smaller river that flows into the St. Lawrence River here at Quebec City.
Happy Canada Day! We loved our 5 day stay in Bathurst. We are now heading to look at Caraquet and then heading to Shippagan, NB where we will spend the night.
We spent last night and today on PEI, both in Charlottetown and driving to fun spots on the island in a rented car. Walking around Charlottetown gave us a chance to go into many fun shops and to see and feel the town a bit.
