just brought boat home today.
fired right up, no problems, yet.
then notice big crack in the log manifold on the left side. when i put away for winter, i pulled every plug on motor and made sure no water in anything.
then notice water temp is holding...

1978 galaxie 22xl with merc 260 chevy 350 crate motor with 110 hours on it now.
Was pulling around 4000 rpm with the 17p prop on boat with a stuck exhaust valve, and actually one of the plug wires off...
ok, I am ready to give up.

did compression test, all looks well
set timing 6 degrees btdc
dwell and advance are in spec
fuel pressure was tested, all good 5 1/2 lbs when you start motor
temp runs 140 to 160 all day long...
ok, i am at my wits end with this project.
