    1982 35hp johnson

    so now i'm at my wits end. rebuilt carb, new wiring, powerpack and coils,thermostat and head gasket, plugs and fuel pump . temp fine. starts and idles great. when i put in gear in the water and give it gas it bogs down and stalls. mechanic is stumped, too. any ideas?

    bought motor recently w/no temp gauge. have omc gauge #175619 but no sender or wiring. where can i purchase these? i have searched all over to no avail. please advise.

    johnson '82-35 hp

    engine starts and idles thru marina just fine. when i give it throttle in gear it won't respond. i gave it throttle manually after disconnecting linkage and same result.i get good rpms in neutral, tho. so it won't perform under load. anyone have an experience like this?

    this is the 2nd time in 2 years i had the head gasket blow from overheating due to thermostat freezing up from salt deposits. of course i flush it out carefully after each use. i'm in so calif. is it really necessary to put another thermostat back in this time??

    there are 2 rods that look like half-inch thick hydraulic pushrods that prevent the motor from coming down all the way vertical. as a result, my boat lifts in the front and wont plane right. please advise.
