Alpha 1 Generation 2 counter rotating-
After replacing bellows, gimbal bearing, and shift cable... outdrive won't fully seat. It lacks about 2mm from being perfect.
Shift shaft is facing forward and shift slide seems to be aligned.
Any ideas what could be? Could I have not fully seated...

I have a 1999 3.0 Mercruiser that has begun to chirp when I increase the throttle and continues at cruise speed sounding like crickets. There is no chirping at idle.
As read in previous posts, I disconnected the belts temporarily to rule out the alternator and circulating pump. Still...
