I am looking at buying a large Hatteras and thought i would see what the opinions are on how old is to old. I don't have any issues with doing the interior over in a mechanically sound boat nor minor repairs. What i have questions about is more on the hull and superstructure side.

i noticed a whistleing sound from the motor once it is at operating temps. I hear is at about 1850rpm to around 3000rpm. It could be doing it above that but i can't hear it, It doesn't do this when at idle regardless of the motor temp. Any ideas of what might be causing this?
