Just replaced my broken L/U with a rebuilt one and now it wont shift. If I pull it apart and shift the linkage works fine and the sleve that mates to L/U moves fine. If I try to manually turn the spline on the L/U it doesnt seem to move very much and you have to wiggle the prop and turn at the...
Does anyone know if there is a trick to reinstalling the lower unit on a 99 150 vmax? I took it to a local shop and after reordering the lower unit 3 times we still can't get the unit to go in alll the way. It stops about 1/2-3/4" short. I'm cartain that the shaft length is correct ..any ideas??
