    change shift rod '79 35hp johnson?

    have a newer lower unit- has the exhaust housing window w/ shift rod connector. i want to install this unit on my '79 motor. drive shaft and water tube are correct but i need to swap old shift rod into newer unit. will my old rod thread into the new unit ? how 'deep' a dissasembly would it...

    repair fishfinder- non factory?

    will go thru [again] all the cleaning/circuitry verification on my Eagle 500c tomorrow but have little hope - i have juice past the switch and fuse and still a dark screen. anyone have a resource other than the factory that they recommend for fishfinder/gps repairs?
