Thanks to @alldodge back in 2016. Note that you do this after engine is up to temp and running when you jumper.

    Merc 250 Verado Fuel increase

Soo sorry this is happening. Most boaters would be devastated. I hope they make you right. "They need to fix what they damaged" Yes you do have the right to made whole. Take many many pictures. Start far enough away so it shows the whole boat "click" (had an adjuster out the other day and he had...

    Larson, 4.3 GL-J, SX-A electrical gremlins

I don’t agree with this statement. I’ve worked on hundreds of carburetor boats that have hour meters. Hour meters came stock on many upper level boats. This is a Larson (generally considered a price point boat) so an hour meter would have been a dealer installed or Larson factory option. If it...

1+2 - this is the oil alarm sender, replace it, it tested bad. 3 - oil gauge sender will be aft of the carb, very near the distributor. Test it just like you tested trim sender. Dark blue wire. That thing in the second pic is the fuel pump and that's the fuel filter under it.

Techmate should have a run fuel pump function.

    Merc 250 Verado Fuel increase

Did you run the pump long enough to get fuel with no air in it? I would try to avoid getting confrontational with Merc until they stonewall you on a no coverage issue. This low pressure issue must be addressed. Like I said -- fuel problems are one of the biggest killers of these engines.

    Merc 250 Verado Fuel increase

Yes test equipment like meters and gauges need to be double checked every once and a while. Suggest you hook up shore power overnight and check float voltage on the batts. Note you will need to check this before you use any electricity on the boat.

    Merc 250 Verado Fuel increase

Yes, I've heard about this problem from customers. It seems the water in fuel harness can get out of place when changing the fuel filter. But, as I tell those customers. Your owners manual clearly states to have the motor trimmed up when removing and replacing the cowl. This will help keep this...

    Merc 250 Verado Fuel increase

Good you found the issue with leaking. My guess is nothing will happen. You should still be in the EPA warranty, so still within your rights to demand repair. 45psi is low. but within some gauge tolerances. Also did you bleed all the air out before testing? Did you check the port engine to...

    Merc 250 Verado Fuel increase

You should never have to use any tool to check fuel pressure. Yes, it sounds like you may have damaged the schrader valve threads. Stop and inspect any time more then fingers aren't enough. I should have worded that better. By all 4 I meant both engines. Port engine maybe able to give you a...

A little less of a chance for foaming with VP fluid. ATF is fine.

    Merc 250 Verado Fuel increase

For the batts, will the techmate show cranking voltage? Check check your owners manual for the battery charger, it might need to be reprogramed. That is more of a difference than I normally see. The two beeps on stbd startup might point to a voltage drop. Same fuel pressure fitting that's been...

why yes there is! trim gauge ---- disconnect wires back by transom. with the drive down, connect an ohm meter to the two wires that go to the sender. should read 10-12Ω. now use trim switch to raise drive while watching ohm meter, it should smoothly go up. if it passes, with the key on, jump the...

Some boat manufactures wired the emergency tether (kill switch) into the purple wire. So in some twins you will loose both engines when the tether is pulled.

Twin Merc 250 fuel burn difference's

This can be a tough one to get a dealer to spend the needed time on. This needs to be diagnosed while out on the water under load. Need to hook up 2 matched fuel pressure gauges and watch them. Need a tech who has the knowledge and be allowed to spend the time to interpret the G3. Something to...

    Warning horn not getting ground

Hi @Jeanric Is this something you're still working on? If so I might be able to help. The Ford ECA (what you are calling ECU) doesn't work the way you think. What symptom caused you to look at this S.L.O.W. system?

Twin Merc 250 fuel burn difference's

Hi, been away. I can't really tell much from the vid. A scan tool might say more. It's been a decade since I was last in the boat business, but back then Merc wouldn't do anything for differences below 5% and it was like pulling teeth to get them to do anything below 10%. I don't know if that's...

I don't think shutting down an injector would give much useful info. I wouldn't know what to look for. But if you want to try I don't think it would cause problems and might be useful. It's very unlikely the flexible fuel line is collapsing, but possible and would explain your issue. I don't...
