If the pin was missed would that keep it from firing at all even with premix sprayed into the carb?

If I did miss the pin, I should be able to get it back in without pulling pistons all the way out? I don't want to break another ring as I say, not able to find more.

would you happen to know where I could find more piston rings for this motor? Parts people I have contacted say they are no longer available. Also, what is the purpose of that pin and would it make it not start?

After reading over these posts I realized that didn't explain myself very well and I'm sorry. my problem originated when I lost compression and couldn't even pull start at all so what I did was, took the powerhead apart, went thru it checking reeds, bearings and such. The problem I believe was...

I have tried what you said to do, swapped the plug leads and fuel in the plug holes and still nothing happens when I pull start. I am using a plug tester and it does jump 3/8" on both. Do you think maybe the coils could be bad?

I have tried that and nothing. The wires that go on coils I’m not sure about. I’m wondering if the blue/ white stripe wire is positive or negative that goes on the coil.
