    I just ran the boat after changing the second filter, I also had to put a new starter in too but the boat fired instantly ran smooth. before I changed filters it took a little cranking to start hope that is a trend.

    I sunk a Jon boat on the Mississippi should have never put that 9.9 on a 10 x 28 boat with electric start and a battery in the back, transom tore out.

    1 filter is by the fuel pump, the second is a fuel water seperator that is down in the bilge. I switched mine out earlier this spring the second filter in the seperator was dirtier that the first filter.

    I get simplicity of an outboard, I am running a single screw no gimbal etc. Can you at full speed crank the steering wheel boat spins on a dime without caveating? I understand working on stuff that is compact is frustrating. I hate working on my Mastercraft but I do love driving it.

    Well it will definitely go in easier than it came out just because now I know. I won't have to climb in and out of the boat to get the right sized socket and wrench. should be a less than 15 minute job just waiting for the temps to go down, afternoon sun is brutal where the trailer is parked...

    Oh I am having it rebuilt. I was the cause of my own suffering, I had the boat moored to the dock did not have the bilge pump on auto and yeah flooded the bilge the starter is not engaging fully. Bottom starter bolt you can not see 9/16 requires 24" of extension to get a 1/4 turn laying on wet...
