Thanks for the info, it helps. Do you have 3 or 4 position key switches? A 4 position will have an accessory position if you turn it counter-clockwise. Have you tried using the start/stop all button that's on the pivot point of the port throttle handle? This should start the stbd engine first...

I'm not sure you have a battery problem. Here is something I found in one of DTS service manuals. Additional Horn Denial: A double rapid horn indicates denial of the attempted action. To help me better understand your boat; Can you post some pics of your dash? Need to determine what exact...

What does the battery test report say? The 10% is a recommendation NOT a requirement! You're good as long as your batteries get to float voltage before you use them again, Odyssey can deny warranty for many reason per their terms but as long as they get charged completely before the next use...

So they both get louder when you turn it on to sport and they both get quieter when you select stealth? How are you turning it on/off?

    Merc 250 Verado Fuel increase

Probably not. The Advanced Sound Control actuator is under the port muffler --- pretty high up in the Midsection --- and the control module is at the helm. Trouble shooting, check 5 amp fuse in engine fuse block. The actuator will stay in whatever sport/stealth position it was last in until it...

Next time you have techmate out on the water, look for Demand Linear - Demand - Demand with Guardian. All 3 of these should be at or very near to 100% at WOT. So if you can you want to look these plus RPMs and note what they are for each engine.

Might check the battery in your meter, my cheaper meters tend to start drifting off when the batt starts getting lower -- my high buck meter is rock solid until the lo batt pops up in the display. Have you looked at your charger? Back when I worked for a Chap dealer they came with low cost...

Advice / Tips for Draining Old gas and checking fuel lines.

The biggest mistake I see when a DIY tries to drain their fuel tank. They try to suck it out with the existing fuel lines. This results in failure. The problem is that the tube that goes into the tank stops about 1" from the bottom so they don't get all the fuel, and what they leave in the the...

Something that popped into my head, it doesn't fit with the vibration you experienced. But might be something that could effect the unequal fuel burn. Your engines have software called ARO --- advanced range optimization. This will adjust fuel and spark when certain parameters are meet. When...

Soo sorry this is happening. Most boaters would be devastated. I hope they make you right. "They need to fix what they damaged" Yes you do have the right to made whole. Take many many pictures. Start far enough away so it shows the whole boat "click" (had an adjuster out the other day and he had...

    Larson, 4.3 GL-J, SX-A electrical gremlins

I don’t agree with this statement. I’ve worked on hundreds of carburetor boats that have hour meters. Hour meters came stock on many upper level boats. This is a Larson (generally considered a price point boat) so an hour meter would have been a dealer installed or Larson factory option. If it...

1+2 - this is the oil alarm sender, replace it, it tested bad. 3 - oil gauge sender will be aft of the carb, very near the distributor. Test it just like you tested trim sender. Dark blue wire. That thing in the second pic is the fuel pump and that's the fuel filter under it.

Techmate should have a run fuel pump function.

Did you run the pump long enough to get fuel with no air in it? I would try to avoid getting confrontational with Merc until they stonewall you on a no coverage issue. This low pressure issue must be addressed. Like I said -- fuel problems are one of the biggest killers of these engines.

Yes test equipment like meters and gauges need to be double checked every once and a while. Suggest you hook up shore power overnight and check float voltage on the batts. Note you will need to check this before you use any electricity on the boat.

Yes, I've heard about this problem from customers. It seems the water in fuel harness can get out of place when changing the fuel filter. But, as I tell those customers. Your owners manual clearly states to have the motor trimmed up when removing and replacing the cowl. This will help keep this...

Good you found the issue with leaking. My guess is nothing will happen. You should still be in the EPA warranty, so still within your rights to demand repair. 45psi is low. but within some gauge tolerances. Also did you bleed all the air out before testing? Did you check the port engine to...

You should never have to use any tool to check fuel pressure. Yes, it sounds like you may have damaged the schrader valve threads. Stop and inspect any time more then fingers aren't enough. I should have worded that better. By all 4 I meant both engines. Port engine maybe able to give you a...
