1994 40 Force. Can anyone tell me what the upper crankshaft seal/bearing cage gasket is made of> paper or metal. Was siliconed and leaking when I took it off. Haven't been able to find new one. Will make one if paper is the OEM gasket material.

What effects on engine performance can be related to the upper crankshaft seal leaking?(badly). Know what is does to my dirt bikes which is rare but haven't had a outboard in years.
