    83 Center Console…higher tow points?

Thanks. Wasn’t sure which way to go since it may be kinda Bayliner-specific. Most boats have them mounted higher up the transom.

    83 Center Console…higher tow points?

I have a 1983 Bayliner center console, 18.5 feet, 125 hp Force. I use it for fishing and for towing tubes and skiers. It does okay, but on this model the anchor points for the tow rope are pretty low… just a few inches above the waterline. The line drags in the water a lot, especially when you...

    83 Center Console…higher tow points?

Will do. Thanks. Not much meat in the transom on this model Bayliner.

    Wobble roller placement

Welp, I thought it was a 5000 lb axle but I checked the spindle and bearings and it’s only 3500. Not gonna work. Thanks folks. Time to re-assess. I have a dual axle bunk trailer but it will need some work. The boat was towed from about 90 miles away on the dual axle trailer when I bought it...

    Wobble roller placement

Hmmm… I’ve got 20 rollers total (8 wobble and 2 keel rollers on each of two pivoting assemblies). The Classic Aquasport site says the boat is 2200 lbs. Motor is about 520 lbs. Comes out to 136 lbs per roller. I know on bunk trailers the keel rollers don’t carry weight. This trailer has...

    Wobble roller placement

Thanks man. The stringer that runs fore an d aft is just outside the place where the splash well meets the transom. Sounds like I need to move the outer roller out as far as I can, then move the inner roller away from the keel and as close to the stringer as I can. I don’t think I can get it...

    Wobble roller placement

I bought a used trailer for my 22 foot aqua sport dual console. I have a 200 horse Johnson on a rebuilt transom. The trailer is a “self-adjusting” model built by the Long trailer company. The previous owner showed me a picture of it with a 23 footer on it. It has 2U shaped swiveling...

Force 125 1980 something.. Rectifier? Spark when connecting battery

I am on vacation about 3 hours from my real tools. I took the battery out just to get it to my charger (extension cord won’t reach at our rental) and when I re-installed it sparked at the battery post as I was reconnecting the battery cables. I had never seen that before and assumed I must...

    Thermostat cover hose 200 Johnson 2000 J200VLSIF

Got it fired up and it’s not leaking. Smoky, but it’s been sitting a while. Still needs fine tuning. Haven’t adjusted idle speed or timing.

    Thermostat cover hose 200 Johnson 2000 J200VLSIF

This hose (item 37) on my 200 hp 90degree Johnson is cracked and leaking water. Can I just replace it with a fuel line? Vacuum line? Does it matter much what I use?

200 hp 90 degree powerhead, FITCH midsection

So the lower unit came of easy. Steering swivel too. But the exhaust housing seems to be stuck on there pretty good. I have removed all six of the long 3/8 bolts and six 1/4-20s. Smacked it a bunch of times with a plastic dead blow mallet. No luck. Any tips on getting it loose?

200 hp 90 degree powerhead, FITCH midsection

Heh... you got a good memory! I kinda got tired of messing around with it! This powerhead is newer and in better shape. I'll still try to get it running and re-sell it, or I'll put it on another hull.
