1987 E175TXCUA fuel recirculation / vacuum hose routing

This is for a 1988 Model, your's should be the same. Check for 2 nipples below each carb.

1973 evinrude 115 hp starting problem

1988 Model, check your torque value as it may not be the same. NB: Key position & compound on the nut.

No Oil Alarm 2000 Johnson 175 Ocean Pro

This is from the 2004 Operators Guide which I believe is freely available, hope it doesn't confuse things with your 2000 model. One thing I noticed is that the beep codes seems to nave been done away with & they rely solely on the indicator lights plus a 10 second beep? I dunno but here it is FWIW.

    Live Well Question

Riser pipe = standpipe, you need to follow the hoses & see where they go. I suspect the fitting in pic #3 is on the outside of the boat?

Making a custom trailer guide-in - could use advice

Assuming you have centre rollers (can't see in the pic) if you grease all the roller shafts the boat will roll off unaided and be easy to winch up dry. I launch & retrieve on a fairly 'flat' ramp (pic) and this is the typical depth I need, just enough depth so the boat doesn't bonk on the...

Need help understanding recirc valves and system for Evinrude 225 hp (1986)

This is all I have mate, I suspect they move excess oil from the bottom of each crankcase chamber up to the top but I don't know for sure.

First trip of the year, trouble shifting, 2005 Johnson 90hp J90GLSOB 2 stroke carb'd

I was interested in mine but I couldn't see it with all the ambient light, took a picture with my new fangled camera on a wire.

    Fuel gauge issues.

Here's a little chart for any other gauge problems you may come across. Note the reverse function of the OMC Vs Mercury trim gauges, the boat I bought had a motor change so at the time I had 2 gauges working in reverse so that led me along the path of wiring problems. I should have realized the...

    Fuel gauge issues.

Unless it's a European gauge. I got caught out by one that was fitted to a boat I bought & no amount of swapping wires can fix it.

    17 Ft Mako 140hp Johnson 4500RPM?!

I have a very similar 17' boat as pictured (I hope) below. It started off with a 70HP omc motor c/w a 17" prop which spun at 5000RPM for 30MPH. I did for a time run a 15" prop on it, picked up a couple of hundred rpm but no increase in speed. Now it has a 90HP omc motor c/w a 17" which spins...

    OMC high idle lever stuck

Disconnecting the throttle cable at the motor removes any chance of a badly adjusted cable screwing it up.

    Another fuel gauge question.

European / American / gauge / sender mismatch.

    Teleflex Safety Flex Helm Disconnect

If this is what you're talking about I used a ball joint puller that I borrowed from my local car mechanic.

    Fuel sending unit

You can do most of the testing from the back of the gauge.

Bow Roller and Bow D-Ring Position

I feel your pain mate, you do realize you will never stop thinking about it? :D So close but still not close enough. HaHaHaHa! Smaller diameter roller and/or if your hook is not stitched on then a stainless steel "S" type hook might do it.

    1989 Johnson GT175 Shifter problem

When you're trying to select manually is the motor running or are you turning the prop by hand or foot? That could take care of the manual shifting then if the cable doesn't have enough travel it may be a problem in the controller or adjustment.

1997 90 HP Evinrude E90TSLEUA ignition switch repacement

SORRY mate I can't type so I try to be very economical with words, that tends to make all my posts sound 'clipped & condescending'. I've honestly been thinking about explaining my affliction in a tagline. Here it is from an earlier model, your's is probably the same.

    Missing Something?

First make sure the roller hasn't shed its outer skin. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OMC-0432572-0432572-ROLLER-SLEEVE-AY-/161842942522 Then check the throttle lever operation & idle setting while disconnected from the control cable. Then rig your throttle cable like this. There's no return...

    17ft Mako CC 70HP?!

I take it back, mine is a bit lighter than yours. The 90 HP has seen 42 MPH with a tail wind, the max 175 HP would be downright scary.
