    Clicking noise in neutral

After dropping my lower unit on my 1991 25hp Yamaha 2 stroke (25MSHP) to replace my impeller - which had no blades remaining - I was dismayed to hear an awful rattling/clicking noise after putting the lower back on. I’m assuming I screwed something up in the linkage... but I’m not sure what. I...

    1958 18hp Fastwin Cuts Out

I agree, they do seem to be set too rich. Definitely the next thing I'll be looking into once I figure out the tank/fuel issue.

    1958 18hp Fastwin Cuts Out

1958 Evinrude Fastwin 18hp model 15024 2 stroke, running 24:1 mixture This motor uses an old metal pressure style tank that as far as I can tell does not leak. This is my first 'pressure tank' motor and I'm still figuring out how the system works. My Fastwin will run - rough but run - for...

    1958 Fastwin Not Getting Fuel

Sorry, wrong nomenclature. Manuel fuel feed is what I was referring too

    1958 Fastwin Not Getting Fuel

Tank is clean. Filter is currently being cut out for simplicity. Fuel is very fresh and mixed 24:1. It starts and runs if fuel is squirted into the carb using the primer bulb, but there is no vacuum whatsoever. I’m just unsure of whether or not something other than a leak in the line or tank...

    1958 Fastwin Not Getting Fuel

These were old pictures on my phone from when I took the carb off. I have since put everything back together, attached all hoses, etc. These are not current photos. Sorry the the confusion I should have made that more clearly when I posted them

    1958 Fastwin Not Getting Fuel

Hose is not connected to filter bowl because I bypassed it with a clear fuel line straight to the tank to see if there were air bubbles etc running through. I also was replacing some aging hose clamps

    1958 Fastwin Not Getting Fuel

It has I added a few pics. I didn’t realize that’s what the air hose was for. I guess the carb has nothing to do with the lack of pressure then, right? I’ve got some clear tubing I know is 100% good. I’ll bypass the line and connector and feed it straight to the tank. That’s help me rule out...

    1958 Fastwin Not Getting Fuel

It’s a pressure tank. I assumed (hoped) the problem was in the lines but that does not appear to be the case. Absolutely 0 hiss when I remove the tank cap after running it so clearly it’s not building up a vacuum. I just don’t know where else to look other than the lines.

    1958 Fastwin Not Getting Fuel

Firstly: 1958 18hp Evinrude Fastwin model 15024 I purchased this motor close to a month ago and have been having trouble keeping it running. After waiting on a clear fuel line I have discovered that the motor does not pull gas in at all. Unless gas is directly pumped into the bowl it will not...

1954 18 hp Evinrude Fasttwin Frothy Exhaust

Just went to my local boat shop and picked a pump up. I should have gone there initially instead of the auto parts store assuming they'd have something compatible. Thanks for the clarification. I appreciate the help

1954 18 hp Evinrude Fasttwin Frothy Exhaust

Are they universal? I assumed that I'd have to buy one specific to my engine in order to screw into my drain plug. Years of wrenching cars is generous now that I reread it. Working on cars as a hobby and DIY fixes. I meant that in a "I get the basic concepts of motors" but as far as 2 strokes...

1954 18 hp Evinrude Fasttwin Frothy Exhaust

2 developments from working on it today. I let the motor on its side and forgot it was primed and had fuel in it. A very generous amount of fuel came out. Have a broken a seal? Is this a clue to the initial fuel problem? Also, I cannot find a threaded hose adapter for the life of me that will...

You're right. '58. I'm not sure why I had 54 stuck in my head.

15024-15760 I should have included that. Thanks

    Bolts ?

Warming the engine up would help. Heat helps expand the metals and loosen things up a bit. Other than that, WD40 is your best friend. This is very good advice ^^

1954 18 hp Evinrude Fasttwin Frothy Exhaust

Hello, all. To start off let me just say that I am not a boat guy. I've wrenched cars for years and am looking to BECOME a boat guy. Assume I'm an idiot and use small words :) I recently bought a 2 stroke 18hp Evinrude motor. 1954. It has fuel issues and needs to be primed constantly to stay...
