    Agree, drain and remove the riser, drill and tap for 1/4 inch pipe using the correct drill bit. If not needed to drain it ,replace with brass allen head plug for clearance

    With a new replacement gear set they want you to remove the small spacer and use rolling torque method, I just reuse the small spacer and just torque the nut down . Never had an issue

    replaced gimbal bearing in merc alpha 1. cannot get alignment tool to engage with engine coupler at all. have tried to move bearing every way

    Was the old bearing destroyed or was the drive difficult to remove? If yes ,you have an engine alignment issue

    If your turning the motor please STOP before you break the bolt. Battery connection clean and tight at the battery, the starter and the neg ground at the block. Locate the slave and jump the yellow/red and red/ purple. If the connections and starter are good, motor should spin
