    Looking at the edge of the outlet, is that casting flash or a crack? I think casting flash. I think those threaded ports on the pump are usually NPT but on the three carbs (Q-jet, Holley & Edelbrock) I have for the fuel inlets they use straight threads and a double flare fuel line fitting...

    Remember “stainless” means stain-less but not rust proof…I have used standard bearings (not sure if they are stainless or not) and as long as you keep water out and grease once a year or so they last a long time. I have some spares in the garage now I’m curious to check with a magnet….

    All I did was use PT wood and stainless fasteners, the original was redone before I got it and it was unwrapped foam. I didn't know as much then as I do now, but I did that I think in 2009 and it's still OK now!

    I had to replace that huge piece of plywood about 15 years ago, it was the width & length of the engine compartment so it was big and heavy. The original was 3/4" plywood so that's what I used. Still in good shape now all these years later.

    I never did see them in concert but when I was a grad student at Hofstra University in Hempstead LI they played several shows at Nassau Coliseum and there were tons of Dead heads camped out the parking lot for a few days…me I was too busy as a grad student then! But sure looked like fun!
