Cuddle up to your John Deere

George is passing by Bob's shed one day when, through a gap in the door, he sees Bob doing a slow and sensual striptease in front of his old green John Deere tractor. Buttocks clenched he performs a slow pirouette and gently slide off first the right Welly boot followed by the left. He then...

    The unhappy doctor

A gynecologist returned home from a day at the office and proclaimed to his wife, "I hate being a doctor. I never liked being a doctor. My grandfather was a doctor, and my father was a doctor, so I felt I was suppose to be one as well, but I hate it. I wish I had become a mechanic." His wife...

    Heard a good one today

Four men and a woman were having coffee after mass at the Catholic church. The first man said, "My first born just became a priest. When he enters a room, people greet him with, Good Day Father. We are so proud of him." The second man says, "My son is the Bishop and when he enters a room he is...

    Thieving B@$t@rd$ stole my motor.

I went to the cottage this weekend to finish winterizing the boat and make up a new frame to tarp it down. Imagine my dismay when I find that my 60 hp 4 stroke Bigfoot has been stolen. The thieves unbolted it from the transom. They were kind enough not to cut the cables. It had to be more than...

    Underskinning with plastic?

A customer of mine has 4x8 sheets of 1/8" industrial plastic, usually used for chutes to remove old roofing material when re-roofing. This is heavy duty material and it's free. What are your thoughts on using it for underskinning?

    The army is coming!

My hometown in Newfoundland had been cut off from the world since Hurricane Igor swept thru last week. They are getting low on food and fuel. The highway has 4 large washouts and it is the only route to the rest of the country. There's a lot of damage and many homes uninhabitable. My sister's...

    A good chuckle

To the moderators, I'm trying my best to keep this one G rated. An elderly drunken fellow walked into a biker bar and ordered a beer. He looked around and eyed a group of bikers at a table in the corner. He walked over and stared at the biggest one and said, "I was by your grandmother's house...

    1962 larson all american

I came across this classic today, at the side of the road for sale. It is all original, in immaculate condition with canvas top, and original 70 hp K Merc. with TnT and original trailer. The only flaw is a crack in the windshield which looks like it had a home repair many years ago. Asking price...

    Rough running Bigfoot

I have an '02 60 hp Bigfoot EFI on my pontoon. It was tuned last year and had new plugs, wires, impeller, fuel pump and fuel filter. I have put about 60 hrs. on it since. It has been running great until last weekend. It starts without a problem and runs well at low speed but at higher speeds...

Why ask iboats members which boat to buy?

As long as I have been an iboats member, I have wondered why people ask others which boat to buy.... until now. When I wanted a boat, I pretty much knew what I wanted. This weekend, my cousin asked for help in finding a suitable boat. I have a pontoon boat and she wants a bowrider. My experience...

    Strange things caught while fishing

Some weird things happen when your on the water. What is the strangest thing you've ever caught on a fishing line? I once caught a bat while casting at dusk. What else has been pulled aboard?

    Time to get away

It's that time of year that I look forward to more than any other, our yearly fishing trip. The same 6 of us have spent a week fishing at various remote fishing lodges for the last dozen years. I head out in the morning for Lake Ogascanan in Northern Quebec. We were there last year and the camp...

    repairing cracked plastic

Due to a winter structure collapsing on my pontoon boat, the plastic molded base of one of the seats has severe damage. Replacing it is cost prohibitive. I feel it is repairable with epoxy fiberglass and CSM. Will this work or is there a better way? BTW when repaired it will be covered with vinyl.

    Motor height

Before I put the boat in this weekend, I want to review the motor height. It's a '08 Sun Tracker Regency with a 60 hp Bigfoot. Who has a similar toon and what mounting holes do you use? I don't have any cavitation issues. I'm wondering if the motor is deeper than it needs to be. It's a lot...

    Not my week

I haven't been able to get back to the tinny rebuild all week, between the crappy weather and work. I find out a couple of days ago that I have raccoons in my cottage and I can't get to it because of my schedule and other commitments. Yesterday the wind blew hard here and took down one of the...

    Raccoons in the attic

I just got a call from my neighbor at the cottage. She informed me that a momma raccoon has moved into the attic of the the add-on storage room at the back and set up house with her family. My neighbor thinks they have been inside the cottage but she's not sure yet. I haven't been up there yet...
