When are you putting the boat away for winter??
Here in Maryland I usually do it the first weekend of Nov as a rule. I then end up missing weeks of boating (fall is my favorite time to boat). This year I think I will keep one eye on the weather channel and on eye on the water and wait till...

Looking for a gasket set for a (early 70's)Volvo 270 top end. I need to put U joints in and I have a leak in the shifter mechanism so there is no better time. If there is a log in the water I will hit it.

Today was the first day out in about six months. All the new upgrades that I bought and installed over the winter all worked out very well except for the Pertronix ignition upgrade. It didn't fit inside my distributor but that is a different story.
On my way back from my favorite spot...

    Another ohm question

Did the test to check the coil's resistance. Pertronix says that it has to be 1.5 or greater. When I did the test I came up with 1.6 and it would momentary jump to 1.7 every now and then. Is the ohm scale like the rector scale (a couple of decimal points greater means a big difference) or am I...

Need help reading a ohm meter.

Bought this at Pep Boys. I guess you already need to know how to read one before you buy it because it doesn't come with any directions. No big deal because I only need to use it once and I am sure it will end up in the back of the tool box. What would I need to set it on to check the resistance...

    Compounding question.

I have a (interflux) painted fiberglass boat with a couple stains. I am going to use rubbing compound before I wax. After reading the can it says " rub on and wipe off" nothing about letting it dry first. Do I let it dry? Would you wipe or buff it off? Would use a buffer to put it on? Give me...

    Why does some chrome rust?

It doesn't matter what type of valve cover (chrome) I use they all seem to rust after one season. All the rest chrome on the boat doesn't have a spot of rust after many years. Is it the base metal? Cheep chrome? Is there any thing I can do to prevent this. Already tried clear coating with no luck.
