New Boat Owner as of July 2021

Very good advice, I am not there yet with the launching times yet but getting better with each time. Learning new tricks each time as well. So far I have been lucky enough to be the only one at the launch pad I use most of the time I am going out.

loading a motorcycle on a boat...

Wow, so dumb. There had to have been a better way to load that.

    Bow stop vs bow roller

May be true tightening the bolt, but with it marking up my boat I was wanting to change it out anyway.

I think I'm another story of a bad boat purchase

Wow that really sucks that you find that after the fact. It's unfortunate that this is how people are these days when selling something. More often than not people say anything when it comes to selling a used vehicle...etc. Since you are this far into it I would probably fix as much as you can...

    Bow stop vs bow roller

Yes I know, the V one on mine did the same thing. Very annoying when trying to load the boat onto the trailer. So far since changing it out to the roller one it has been much easier. Very pleased with the outcome.

New Boat Owner as of July 2021

So being new to the boating world I have learned a lot so far and always trying to learn more about boating and fishing as well. I have learned some things from people on here since I have purchased my boat in July. The one thing that I learned was from an older gentleman that had owned many...

    Bow stop vs bow roller

Got the new roller today for the bow on my boat. Fits perfectly and the boat sits up against it just fine. No more black marks on my boat.

    Good to know, thanks.

    Bow stop vs bow roller

I ordered a roller one that is made of poly instead of rubber so hopefully it works much better.

    Bow stop vs bow roller

It isn't that this one appears worn out, it marks up the front of my boat something terrible so that is why I want to replace it. I was also wondering if I can use either one in that area for the boat? I just feel that the roller style would help the boat slide into place a little better.

    Bow stop vs bow roller

I have looked at the Poly ones as well. I may go with something like that. I just don't like how the rubber one marks up the boat.

    Bow stop vs bow roller

So right now my trailer has a rubber bow stop which doesn't stay put when putting the boat in and out of the water. I was looking at changing the stop to a roller so that the boat slides up a little better when loading and doesn't get all marked up with the marks from the rubber stop. Has anyone...

    Oil change question

Got the oil changed the other day, the one I found on amazon worked great and made the process so easy. Went with Amsoil 25w 40 for my boat. Much better than the Straight 40 wt Wolfs Head oil that was in there that the previous owner used.

    Oil change question

Thank you for all the advice so far. I found a unit on Amazon that should arrive tomorrow. I don’t have a drain plug on the engine so I can’t connect anything to that. And the manual says to drain it through the dipstick tub but of course I have to come up with a way that will work.

Ok thanks. I am looking into some.

Where did you buy it from?

    Oil change question

So I was going to change my oil but the device that I have won’t suck the oil out of the pan. Is there a kit that you can buy that has the right size tubing to be able to put it down the dipstick tube and drain the oil out? I do not want to pay someone I can do myself. What do you guys do when...

Volvo Penta 4 Cyl in a 1988 Baretta

So I was able to finally get the boat out on the water on Thursday and I am happy to report that the boat ran great. I was a little nervous that I would have another issue like the last time but that did not happen. Spent a few hours on the water and enjoyed every minute of it.

I know right? It's hard to tell what's fuel and what's water, at least for me anyways. I hope the when I change it again it looks better than that.
