    196X Starcraft Mariner 16

Well, nothing exciting to report. I keep thinking I will have time to work on it and I get side tracked with other stuff, or the weather fails to cooperate. I did test the lights again after dark. I think they'll work for now. :)

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

I can't seem to get all of the dirt and debris out of the ribs. I keep flushing the drain channel in the middle of the ribs and they keep clogging. Lol. And all it is doing is sitting in the driveway. You are probably right though. I'll never get it done if I don't trust the process. I assume...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

That looks good! What metal is that console made of? How wide? Post #166 pics #2 and #3, do you think that water will flow through there well enough with the foam all the way down to the ribs like that? I guess, in my mind, I will always have a river running down the length of my boat and I am...

1973 Starcraft SuperSport 16ft. restoration questions

Exciting!!! Do you think that the foam will provide enough support for the plywood in the open areas? I.E. between the runners? I guess that is my main paranoia with my boat. I worry about the weight of seats and people on the unsupported areas.

    196X Starcraft Mariner 16

The bow light was crooked and it has been driving me nuts, so I pulled the inch and a half sheet metal screws out and centered it. It will get redone later. I also pulled all of the hokey wiring out and tested the light with my 12 volt Milwaukee battery. It works! I don't exactly know what...

    196X Starcraft Mariner 16

I changed the float, needle, and seat on the carb to my Johnson Seahorse 9.9 to try to solve some low speed/idle issues on my jon boat and decided that I would put it back on today to get it ready to go to the lake tomorrow. Got it all installed and it won't even try to fire. So I got mad and...

1973 Starcraft SuperSport 16ft. restoration questions

What plywood thickness are you going to use? I was thinking about using 1/2", but I was also planning on running aluminum framing from side to side. Looking at it currently with just the runners, I'm a little nervous that 1/2: may bow in the areas between the runners and the sides and the...

    196X Starcraft Mariner 16

In the bow, I'd like to do bow seats. This boat is 99% pleasure/ 1% fishing. Lol. My plan right now is to put it on water to make sure it doesn't leak (closest boat ramp is 40 minutes away) and make some adjustments to the rollers on the trailer. Then I want to finish cleaning it and possibly...

1973 Starcraft SuperSport 16ft. restoration questions

I think I have been over thinking framing the floor. Too much time spent on TBN. :) After seeing a few others and yours, I may re-secure the original runners and just lay plywood over them and go with it.

1973 Starcraft SuperSport 16ft. restoration questions

Very excited to see how the flooring part goes. My 16ft Mariner is laid out exactly the same and I have been trying to decide how to go about re-flooring it.

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

I seemed to have missed it reading through, but how thick is your plywood for the floor? Your runners are laid out like mine and I have been paranoid about support and not stressing the floor with weight.

    196X Starcraft Mariner 16

It is supposed to cool back into the low 90s next week, so I am planning on starting some floor work. I went out before work today to do some measuring as I have been gifted a 16ft aluminum ladder for some floor framing. Then I remembered that the boat came with a 9ft long aluminum 2x4. YES...
