2026 - Mercruiser Cool Fuel 2 Module replacement

Seems that there are less and less resources for this topic. Wondering if anyone could guide me on how to get this part out while the engine is still installed. I can access the motor mount bolts without issue. Will it be a problem pull them off to get the cooler bracket out?

It might be easier to disconnect the fuel lines from the stbd side of the motor near the fuel filter.. but is this a good idea? Looking for service manual right now to see what the standard way of doing this is.

Cool fuel module is mounted to bracket not the motor mount, it's just behind the mount.

Remove plastic cover (push inward top and bottom in center of cover) and you can gain access to the fuel lines. There are 2 mounting bolts holding the pump to bracket. There is also 2 nuts holding the plate that holds the cooler and fuel pump. If nuts are removed you expose those items

Give me your serial number and I'll find the diagram for parts

So I do not remove part 26 to get it removed?
It's tight , so I'm not 100% sure I can get part 23 off without getting it out of there.

The goal is to replace part number 8. The end of the pipe broke on the stern side :-/

You don't have to to but you might want to. Once your down that far removing the 2 nuts that hole the entire assembly is easy and come right off.

Pay close attention to screw item 9 when reinstalling (if removed). It goes in the groove of the fuel line, not behind the groove

The guy that I had build me a motor installed it in front of the groove. Had run the boat a few times and came into dock and smelled gas. The fuel was leaking into the bilge, that could have been the end to me and the wife

I just want to do the easiest way possible Will the guts come out just be removing screw 21 ? Thanks for the warning, will be paying close attention.

No, screw 21 just holds the plastic box to the bracket, and you cannot get to it without removing the bracket item 1
Remove the 2 nuts item 12 and plate item 11 is removed to get at everything else

Thanks, okay, so I'm not going anywhere near #26.

Getting the plastic front off, then removing 12 and 11 will get out of the way.

Thanks. I was worried about having to remove 26 as it looks like a major support holding the motor to the motor mount. Off to go start removing things.

remove the fuel lines at the sep, remove the tbi/rail connection, remove the water line hoses,remove the 2 nuts 26 and remove the CF unit to the bench for service
The motor mount to engine is attached with 3/8ths bolts ,2 are what in call shoulder nuts similar to the bolts in the rear flywheel housing where the neg cable is connected
the nuts 24 have nothing to do with engine mounts

Thanks. There's more room than it looked like, got #11 off with no issue. Stopped there because I realized I wasn't setup to handle gas coming out of the system, will have to figure out what to do about that this week and give this the final push next weekend. Replacing this pipe and the starter.
