Yesterday, the plan was to cover the top surface of the aft full sheet of Nidacore with 1708 and epoxy. The underside had already been covered with 1708 with some Nidacore support panels put in place in some key areas. In 100% hindsight, I should have done it earlier in the process outside of the boat but the intent was to blend in the edges to the hull itself using the first layer of 1708.
Working in the boat with the cover lifted up and a large fan providing airflow has worked well. I didn't give a second thought to sunlight coming into the port side. With the temp of the day and added heat from the sun, a section of epoxy fired off and set on me leaving a fold and some visible large air pockets.
Absolute 100% head meet wall day. First real FUBAR moment of this resto...
The lesson? Don't get wrapped up so much in the process that you neglect environmental conditions.
