    I'm thinking of upgrading from my 1968 3hp Johnson, to a 9.5 evinrude (sportwin) or Johnson. There seems to be a few of them out there forsale, late 60's era. Opinions please - Worth a couple hundred bucks? ($200 to $400 price range). Are they tough? Parts availability? Weight around 65lbs...

    1951 Sportwin, no spark. Ok, so I took my multimeter and set the dial to the 200 ohm setting and checked the primary windings (ground to condenser wire), and got a reading 1.34 (it reads 1 when I put the lead ends together). At the 200 setting I get no reading from the secondary windings...

    Evinrude serial number - 4423 -57615. 4423 = 1947 to 51 3.3hp 57615 = ??? Fleetwin, Sportwin ?? It has the front cowling, vertical tube gas gauge. (I'll post picks when I get it next week) Thanks, D.A.L
