Reassembled everything and refilled.ran it on the hose til it wouldnt get any hotter. dash guage reads 175. Diacom software reads 152. could not get it any hotter. purged air from the valve on top of the thermostat housing this time. did notice the water pump is screaming like the belt is...
All good questions. I have no idea. Yes overheat on full closed cooling and not on the half closed cooling. The heat exchanger is considerably larger on the full closed cooling unit. These were the systems that were installed on the engines that I replaced. I would imagine they worked and...
the problem engine is the dry joint one with the coolant that runs through the manifold as well. guess it is called a full system vs the half system that is on the other engine.
havent tried on the hose. It overheated after a short run at 3000 rpm then coming back down to idle it started with the alarm. The temp according to the Diacom computer reading in the spring was around 188 while running at 3000 rpm. that was with 55-60 degree water coming in from the lake...
I have a 2004 mercruiser 6.2 mpi. serial number is gone. cooling system is closed cooling with the coolant that flows through the manifolds as well as the block. This engine has been overheating since i put it together last year. This was a new long block. Here is what ive done and where im...
On my engines the IAC is showing a duty cycle of around 30%. When the engine is under load at anything higher the duty cycle is at or near 100%. Normal or no? I assumed the IAC should be not doing anything above idle.
thank you. Next up is the duty cycle of the iac stays pretty much around 99.98% at higher rpm and aound 30%at idle. Is this information somewhere in one of the manuals so I can look it up instaed of coming here every time I have a question? I have a few of the manuals.
Hey just an update on this one. Im not sure how they are related but I connected the pcv valves that i neglected to hook up when I reassembled everything on these engines and both tachometers started reading correctly. Anyone know how or why this is? No other changes were made to the engines...
Finally got my engines hooked up to the diacom software and was reviewing the data and im trying to see if the readings are ok. The MAP pressure is right around 6 at idle and goes up to about 13 psi at 4300 rpm under load on the water. Does that sound right?
Engines are mercruiser 6.2 mpi 2002
