Guess I should rephrase that from just boat to boat and loadout. All decked out for fishing it would be heavy for a 70 with his boats loadout.

I have a 115 Merc 4 cyl on my 18' SS and it weights in around 400 lbs. Although the V5 variant does have double knee braces with a very robust splashwell. The splashwell drain holes are still low like any other model with a 15" transom. Water does come in sometimes when launching on steep ramps...
1100F which is pure soft aluminum and 2117T4 which is a strong alloy. The hull AL material is 5052 alloy. I would not recommend using 1100F pure soft AL on structural components such as the ribs.
Welcome aboard, lots of projects here where our SCs have been stripped down to bare hull with repairs to the Al as well as deck and transom replacement. With motivation it takes at least a year to accomplish for the average person.
