    Original 1967 Styrofoam?

    You can see all the little pieces separating, the old styrofoam is deteriorating. Clogging up limber holes and possibly a bilge pump in the future, I'd ditch it for some new closed cell foam.

    I use the catalyst hardener with the Van Sickle paint and recently on a trip had the Chief moored for 5 days with no issues.

    Transom Reinforcement

    I have a 115 Merc 4 cyl on my 18' SS and it weights in around 400 lbs. Although the V5 variant does have double knee braces with a very robust splashwell. The splashwell drain holes are still low like any other model with a 15" transom. Water does come in sometimes when launching on steep ramps...

    Most times it's lack of HP that causes such issues, trim tabs can help but the real fix is more HP in your case that heavy of a boat would need a 90.

    Yeah factory style vents made in the 70's won't be found today, most today are stainless and plastic.

    1982 starcraft v220 mariner v5 potential rebuild

    1100F which is pure soft aluminum and 2117T4 which is a strong alloy. The hull AL material is 5052 alloy. I would not recommend using 1100F pure soft AL on structural components such as the ribs.
