    Yeah factory style vents made in the 70's won't be found today, most today are stainless and plastic.

    1982 starcraft v220 mariner v5 potential rebuild

    1100F which is pure soft aluminum and 2117T4 which is a strong alloy. The hull AL material is 5052 alloy. I would not recommend using 1100F pure soft AL on structural components such as the ribs.

    The Terrova was probably the least expensive 24v 80# motor would be my guess, didn't need all the fancy fobs and such for my fishing style.

    Welcome aboard, lots of projects here where our SCs have been stripped down to bare hull with repairs to the Al as well as deck and transom replacement. With motivation it takes at least a year to accomplish for the average person. We always enjoy seeing pics :cool:

    18' V5 SS with Minn Kota Terrova 60" 80lb 24v. Plenty of power and no blow out in rough water.

    I started leaving the bottom bare aluminum, no earthly reason to paint it when used in fresh water.

    Welcome aboard, there's a couple treads where guys have made their own splashwell buy having one the size that came in them wouldn't allow for a tiller unless the handle was several; feet long. :D

    Only to the rib ends for the decking, the side panels come down to cover the gap.
