    At the speed you are, with a riveted bottom boat, It takes 17-19hp to gain each MPH you are looking for if set-up is optimum.

    something else to look at when setting idle is the throt cable.. manual will tell you to make sure it is hitting the end of travel-at the engine. 1/16" off can add 150+ rpm. Verify the tach-#1 mistake made by NOT doing so..

    Looks to me like 2 things are possible. 1, Not tightened to the 40-50 ft-lb range or 2, it done exactly what it was made to do and gave out, possibly just above idle and although the prop isn't torn up, the hub has shifted. Rubex hub will fix any issues that plastic has.

    1400 RPM loss from 13 to 15 pitch!!!

    You run out of torque... I'd say blade design is a bit different on the 13 as well. 200-250 is per inch but when at the top of the torque curve, it can dump rpm in a hurry.

    Blowing main eng. 20amp fuse??

    30hp Merc, Mod# 1A30412DD, S/N 1B049811 Fuse is fine at Idle but if power is applied (RPM going up) fuse blows before even getting on-plane.     If you folks are "on the fence" about a new prop, The gang at iboats has put together quite a sale with some large discounts...
