I have a 1986 Baja Islander. Can you rev the engine without putting the drive in gear? I know there is a button on my merc for that put cant find one on my OMC? Any help will be appreciated.
I purchased a boat with an OMC 4.3 ltr eng and out drive. The engine is bad and I have a 5.7 ltr I would like to install. I know I will have to get different exhaust manifolds and other things to make this work. Any info on making this transplant happen will be appreciated.
One thing I did...
I have an early 1980 Mercury 115. The engine idles great and when you excelorate it feels like it is going to do something but fall on its face and will die if you don't come off the throttle. I,ve gone thru the carbs and fuel system and that is all fine. I also noticed the tach is not right...
