    I have 1991 Mercruiser 4.3 with Alpha I Gen II. Do I have to pull the whole outdrive to change my impellar or can I just pull the lower off by itself?

    4.3 timing and popping

    Here goes, I have a 91 4.3 mercruiser. Just replaced pistons and had heads redone. All back together and trying to set timing and carb is popping. I also just found out I need a new coil. Could a bad coil cause the popping and make it difficult to set timing?

    Removing outdrive and motor

    I have a 91 Mercruiser 4.3 175hp #OD504322 with I believe an Alpha 1 drive. The motor has a bad piston so motor has to come out. Does the outdrive have to come off also?
